It has come to our attention that along with the regular Google text ads we display, Google has been rotating in political advertisements in our ad space. I should clarify how that space works. We signed up to display ONLY RELEVANT ads from Google in that space (ads related to the activity of cycling). Somehow, Google has allowed for political advertising to be displayed in that space as well. This is NOT OUR POLICY and these ads DO NOT REFLECT ANY OFFICIAL MISSION CYCLING POINT OF VIEW.

To further clarify, we started this cycling club as a way to bring a diverse range of people together to share in the common experience of cycling. Cycling is one of those unique experiences that can be enjoyed by anyone regardless of individual background, political point of view or financial situation. No matter who you are it’s tough climbing out of Alpine Dam. And that’s what we have always been after: sharing the amazing experience of accomplishing a beautiful physical feat with friends of all kinds. That’s it.

So, I’m sorry if any political ad that may have slipped through the Google system mislead you to believe that we had any official political point of view. We do not. That’s just none of our business.

Enough of all that - if you have an opinion, please express it by voting today. And then, let’s get back on the bikes.
